Another Sad Story About the Lauren Conrad Collection

You know how Michael K. has his infatuation with Shauna Sand and Phoebe Price? And how Perez loves him some Orange Oprah? Well, I guess you can put me on those levels when it comes to the Lauren Conrad Collection. I'm obssessed with it's atrociousness. The plot just keeps on thickening.

Apparently, the alleged "clothing designer" made an appearance at Bloomingdales in Century City last Thursday, and said the following to describe one of her pieces:

"This one's a little more nighttime. Again, it's a mini, it's that asymmetrical look that is in for this fall. Um, um. That's it [points to model]."

Anyway, my words can only say so much. Check out this vid for the live scoop!

This Whole Paris Hilton/John McCain Thing Has Gone WAY Too Far!

You have got to be kidding me! Apparently, in wake of the ridiculous FunnyOrDie.com spoof that Paris Hilton did to mock John McCain's ad campaign commercial, the slutty heiress is now creating "Paris for President" T-Shirts. The skank-soaked tees will be sold at Kitson, naturally.

This is so dumb. Seriously, I watched that original ad campaign that McCain aired. It had images of Hilton and Britney Spears for a whopping .5 milliseconds. In fact, I missed their "appearance" the first time I watched. Not to mention, they are placed in the ad at the time McCain says the words, "most famous person in the world." So it's not even an insult to the two girls. But being the publicity-whore--and just plain whore in general--Hilton of course had to make a HUGE deal about it--even going so far as to have her mother Kathy write a ranting blog on Huffington Post. Like really? Seriously? Who the eff cares? Wouldn't you idiots be flattered that your candidate of choice used you in one of his campaigns? It's not like you heard anything out of the mouths of Spears or her camp. Because in the big scheme of things, who the eff cares?!

Not to mention, who on Earth--especially in LA--is actually going to walk around donning something that says "Paris for President" ? Give me a break!

Would You Wear This Shit? Didn't Think So, Neither Would We!

Apparently Lauren Conrad still hasn’t received the memo: Her clothing line blows. People aren’t buying it, it gets terrible reviews, and it was just dropped from Kitson. But yet the FIDM student still for some reason has hope for this failing label of hers.

Her newest collection, La Vie en Rose (so original) looks exactly like the items in her other collections, just tackier. We understand LC is busy filming The Hills, posing for various photo shoots, and hitting up massive clubs and red carpets. But if she doesn’t have the time to really put forth effort into these cheap and humiliating designs, she is better off backing out of designing altogether—at least for now. Everytime she releases a new collection, the designs just keep getting worse and worse. Doesn’t make sense. She has such great style, why can’t she make her style for sale work?

And then to top it off, she tries to insult her potential consumers’ wallets by continuing to sell these Wet Seal-inspired mishaps for prices far higher than even close to their worth. I just don’t know what to say. How can such a fashionista walk out of the house knowing her shit sucks?! And still have the nerve to sell it seemingly confidently?

I Have No Explanation for This, I'm Sorry

Not sure which is more alarming: Phoebe Price's choice of "outfit" at last night's Teen Choice Awards--or--the fact that Phoebe Price was even invited to the Teen Choice Awards. Wonder if she and Mariah exchanged fashion tips before attending the event.

I'm sure Michael K. is having a field day with this one.

Other hideous choices from the event included Minka Kelly's plain white dress and eye-blinding tan, Demi Lovato's horseback riding get-up, Selena Gomez' plastic-looking, fluorescent-colored blue shoes, Brittany Snow's neck bumps, Miley Cyrus' nightclub ensemble, and Kim Kardashian--yes, Kim Kardashian's choice of lipstick and church-going dress. She's been failing me a lot lately. [sigh]

In happier Teen Choice Awards fashion news, Blake Lively, Vanessa Hudgens and Katharine McPhee looking absolutely stunning at the event!

Lindsay Lohan Proves She's No Lauren Conrad

LC may not have a stint at rehab on her resume, but I wouldn’t exactly say she has “successful clothing designer” linked to her either. Don’t get me wrong, I think LC has incredible style and is absolutely gorgeous, but it looks like the timing of Kitson dropping her Lauren Conrad Collection couldn’t have been worse, as it coincides with the surprising success of Lindsay Lohan’s similarly overpriced celebrity line. As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, I did not expect sales from Lohan’s “6162 Collection” to soar, but apparently they are already sold-out out at trendy L.A. women’s boutique Intuition—a store that formerly housed the likes of other celeb lines including LC’s, Mandy Moore’s and so forth.

"Everybody loves to wear leggings, and everybody wants a piece of Hollywood. Lindsay is Hollywood," Intuition owner Jaye Hersh tells E! News.

I’m not sure what would make an overpriced leggings line sell like crazy, over an overpriced full line like LC’s for instance. Maybe people are intrigued by the mystique of Lilo. Who knows? But it will be interesting to see for how long the line stays hot. Do you think this line will continue to rise, or do you think it will be a fad like most other celebrity clothing lines?

Kitson is So Over the Lauren Conrad Collection

It was just announced that Robertson Blvd. hotspot Kitson has taken the lavish Lauren Conrad Collection off of it’s shelves. "Sales were lackluster," Kitson owner Fraser Ross told New York Magazine.

Am I surprised? Absolutely! I’m surprised as hell that the clothing retailer even carried the highly disregarded line in the first place! The LCC, which was infamously known for being cheap-looking, plain and overpriced, somehow landed on a few hangers at the trendy L.A. boutique earlier this year.

Unfortunately for Conrad, however, no new designs of hers will be featured at Kitson—and any of her unsold designs which still remain in the hands of the company I have sadly witnessed being moved over to the store’s outlet—placed a few rows down from cheapened, unsold copies of sTORI TELLING.

Hmm, I wonder if Conrad will make a move for Forever 21 to compete with Heidi Montag’s stab @ Anchor Blue. At least Conrad’s line will fit in with the store’s quality this time!

Lindsay Lohan's Legging Line: And You Thought Spanx Were Expensive!

We can already smell the aroma of failure in the air, as yet another celeb takes a stab at their own overpriced apparel line. Star of the hour: Lindsay Lohan. Her line of leg-covering material (pictured above) ranges up to the mid-hundreds per item! You have GOT to be kidding me! I remember when I thought shelling out a whopping $40 for each pair of my Nordstrom-friendly Spanx was a hefty spend. Good heavens, Lilo's damn leggings are probably worth more than the girl's John Hancock, for crying out loud. Who does Lindsay think she is? P. Diddy? As much as the mogul bugs me, I have to admit that his line, Sean John, is the *only* celeb clothing line I take seriously. It's been around forever, and it has truly branded a name for itself in reputable lines of fashion. And so if Sean John wants to be expensive, it surely can. As for me and leggings, I'm stickin to my $40 leg decor, thank you very much!

An Acid Trip Without the Acid

She may be a stylist to the stars, but last night at the Whitney Contemporaries Art Party in NYC, Rachel Zoe was looking like she needed a stylist of her own—or at least a mirror. In a busy, distracting Aztec-like print, Prune-Face definitely displayed the most unfortunate of ensembles at the art museum’s event.

And this, coming from someone whose entire wardrobe consists of patterned prints. But even for me, this dress is just far too much. And with such an ugly face, Zoe has to work a little harder to look good—and needless to say, she didn’t work it in this outfit.

Is One Pair of Jeans Worth An Entire Year (Depending On Where You Live) Of Rent?

Remember when Seven For All Mankind and Citizens of Humanity were all the hype? Ahh...the good ol' days. And after everyone on the planet shelled out their $130 to own a pair of the ever-trendy lines of designer denim, True Religion and Rock & Republic stepped up the designer denim craze, with jeans priced starting at around $200. And from there, boutique-friendly lines like Taverniti definitely set the denim scale high.

Well guess what, folks? Time to fold up your Frankie B.'s and Joes' because nothing--brace yourself--nothing will compare to this: Key Closet, a Los Angeles-based clothing company founded in 2006, just released a pair of jeans (pictured above) priced at $10,000 (yes, you read the four zeroes correctly). The jeans are adorned with more than 10,000 Tiffany-set Swarovski crystals for the thighs and one-carat diamonds on each back pocket, for a total of two carats for the booty. Additionally, the buttons on the back pockets are even made of white gold, and the graphics are accented with foil and hand spray paint to "enhance the look of pure glamour."

But don't go thinking these jeans were created all in vain. The designers are apparently donating 30 percent of all profits made off these blinged-out-booty pants to a charity that helps build schools in Uganda. That's a very generous donation; however, in order to have money to donate, people actually have to purchase the jeans. But then again, this is LA. so I'm sure there will be some home foreclosure taking part so that these fake ridiculous LA women can afford a damn pair of these jeans.

Perez Hilton's Clothing Line Apparently not a Hot Topic Amongst Consumers

Following in the footsteps of LC, Heidi Montag and Avril, Perez Hilton was the latest pseudo-celeb to come out with an unsuccessful clothing line. The line, innovatively titled "Perez Hilton For Hot Topic," includes neon-colored clothing ensembles and $50 blog-themed flip-flops.

Perhaps his "fans" were too busy reading away on his website to take the time to pay the blogger-turned-clothing designer an in-person visit. According to an employee at the Los Angeles Hot Topic at which Hilton appeared, only seven whopping people showed up to the event, and Hilton was furious. He apparently spent the entire time there making all sorts of ridiculous demands.

"He was a rude royal pain in the ass and BEYOND crass... My manager was trying to get people to come in to meet Perez by handing out $5 gift cards NO ONE WANTED TO MEET HIM!" Says the employee.

"He left around 8:45PM without saying goodbye to anyone and looked like he had been crying like the little bitch he is. We sold a grand total of $6.45 of Perez Hilton items between 6PM - 9PM. My manager has already talked about discounting his ‘line’ !”

Hmm...maybe it's bad karma for talking smack on everyone *else's* clothing lines. Or maybe it's just bad karma for talking smack on everyone, period. Either way, I think it's best Hilton stick to blogging and save the fashion faux-pas' for the people who are going to continue to give him something to write about!

Whitney Port Sports the Only Decent Item in the Lauren Conrad Collection

It's old news by now that...well...LC's "clothing line" sucks. It's been hated on by some of the most influential fashion sites and connoisseurs. And aside from that, it's no secret to anyone with a pair of working eyes that the collection blows. It looks cheap, it's plain and it really didn't take any mastermind to work this line out--Not to mention she named all of the pieces after her friends, and even named one of her collections after her former favorite club (Les Deux). If this is what becomes of FIDM grads (or current FIDM students, as is in her case), then I'd just stick to reading, writing and arithmetic in a normal 4-year university, or just give up on the whole schooling idea altogether.

Luckily, however, one friend in LC's here today, gone tomorrow bunch managed to stay on the "designer's" good side for a long enough amount of time to have the only semi-stylish piece in the LCC named after her! Whitney Port, Lauren's co-working, drama-free P.I.C. looked smashing in this "Whit Dress" ($155), which is a part of Lauren's latest line, Beach Butterfly. But don't rush to Robertson Blvd just yet, folks, as this "Whit Dress" is the only worthy item in the load. I'll take my credit card to Mervyns, thanks.

Oh, Megan...You'd Be Such a Fox If...

Aside from the fact that the shoes just do NOT go with the rest of the ensemble (despite how you look at it), Megan Fox’s forearm adornment just doesn’t do it for me. How can someone try to pull off a hot pink Barbie-like dress and have some hugeass face permanently marked on their arm to accompany it? Sorry, she is totally seXXXy, but this looks tacky and does NOT make the cut in my book. Note to Fox: In the future, go with whatchya know!
